Our Club History
The Kiwanis Club of Pocatello was chartered in August, 1920, by the Salt Lake City Kiwanis Club. It was the first Kiwanis Club formed in the Gem State of Idaho, preceding the Boise Kiwanis club by about one week and the Twin Falls Kiwanis Club by about one month. Over the years Pocatello Kiwanians have done "lots" of projects, and raised "lots" of money for community service and youth activities. The club met at the Cotton Tree Inn restaurant for several years, and also at the Juniper Hills Country Club. It currently meets on Tuesdays at noon at Perkins Restaurant, 1600 Pocatello Creek Road.
Our club has produced one governor for the Utah-Idaho District of Kiwanis. Lt. Governors include Carl Raymond, Russ Weight, and Chuck Humphrey.
We have 29 members (down a little from the 150 members our club had 50 years ago). We can always use more! Contact us if you'd like to join. Our e-mail, U.S. Mail, and phone information are listed elsewhere on this website.
