We are also home to Idaho State University. ISU is a regional public higher education institution with a professional-technical school co-located on the campus.  ISU has outreach programs in Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, and Boise. Kiwanis supports ISU through a "Kiwanis Scholarship".  We also make donations to the annual I Love ISU scholarship fund, and contribute to the Bengal Foundation for athletic scholarships.

The Portneuf Medical Center is a regional hospital with new facility in 2011. We also have 8 retirement centers and a very active community senior center.  We have three high schools - two of them with Kiwanis Key Clubs.

Long known as the  "Gate City" to eastern Idaho,  Pocatello has a well-maintained Greenway along the Portneuf River for walking and bicycling.  The Kiwanis Club helps maintain the Greenway as one of our community service projects

Pine Ridge Shopping Mall and a Wal Mart Super Center are located on the north side of  our city.  Interstate 86 terminates here (an extension of I-84); I-15 runs through here, connecting us with Salt Lake City and Butte, Montana. 

 Pocatello is "three hours from everywhere"-- 3 hrs. south of the west entrance to Yellowstone Park; 3 hrs. southwest of Jackson, WY townsite (Jackson Hole area); 3 hrs. southeast of the world famous Sun Valley Winter & Summer Resort; and 3 hrs. north of Salt Lake City.  Come see us!
